Canister Guide
Send a message to your future self
Capture who you are today — goals, fears, gratitude, predictions — and meet that person again when the capsule unlocks.
A time capsule for personal growth
Messages to your future self work as accountability checkpoints: New Year's intentions, career pivots, sobriety milestones, or simple curiosity about how your taste and priorities change.
Canister makes the ritual tangible — not a forgotten note app entry, but a sealed capsule with a real unlock date.
What to put in a future-self message
Write about what you hope will be true later, what you are worried about now, and what you are proud of today. Add photos or journal exports on Signature or Legacy if you want a richer snapshot.
Private by default
Your message is encrypted before it leaves your browser. You can keep the access key to yourself for a solo reveal, or share it with a friend as witness. One-time pricing — no subscription required.
Common questions
Can only I read my message to my future self?
Yes, if you keep the access key private. You may also share the key with someone you trust for accountability.
What unlock intervals work best?
Common choices are one year, five years, or a decade. Essential supports up to one year; Signature up to five; Legacy up to fifty.
Is this different from a digital journal?
Journals are open-ended. A Canister capsule is a single sealed moment with a fixed unlock — closer to burying a physical time capsule.
